Profile
Alice is a highly creative and versatile artist, designer, therapeutic creative arts facilitator and accompanier, a dedicated professional with over 38 years of experience. She holds qualifications in Arts and Design, Graphic Design and Ceramics, Health ans Social Care, enhanced by training in Art and Spirituality, Psychosynthesis and mindful art practices. Her professional journey began in creative and care-based roles, including merchandising, card and textiles designing, while also dedicating many years to working with adults, parents, carers, people with diverse abilities/needs and the elderly. Blending her unique skills with a personal philosophy that creativity and art are powerful tools for personal development and growth, drives social change, enhances problem-solving and builds community. Alice uses her deep-rooted experience to help others connect with themselves and the natural world for greater well-being.
Artistic Practice and Philosophy
As a contemplative and intuitive artist, Alice’s work is an intimate reflection of her belief that we are all a “community of hosts” deeply connected to each other and the world. Her creations, including mixed media paintings, murals and ceramics are a thoughtful reflection of her life’s journey. Having grown up with the rich textures of Malaysian culture and spending more than a decade living in London, her work beautifully fuses these two worlds. It explores her “curious wondering about being human, its connection and the relationship with ourselves and the world.” As an artisan she embraces ecological and sustainable practices, which are a core part of her craft, from eco-conscious soap making to pottery making.
Mindful Creative Arts Facilitation & Accompanier
Since 2015, Alice has channeled her dual passions into facilitating person-centered mindful creative arts programmes, private 1:1 sessions, workshops and retreats. She creates a safe and supportive space for individuals, companies, organisations and special interest groups to develop self-awareness and mindfulness through creative expression. Her programs are designed to help people connect with themselves, others and the world around them, often by holding space in natural environments.
Gallery & Curatorial Work
In 2018, Alice co-founded Mein Ding Gallery Studio in Ipoh, Malaysia. She also creates, curates and organises mindful environmentally sustainable experiences and events, exhibitions, fostering a community for people and other artists. Her art has been exhibited internationally in the UK, Hungary, Germany and Malaysia, including her first solo exhibition 'Dream Within A Dream'. She is a resident artist at Mein Ding Gallery Studio in Hungary, solidifying her presence on the global art scene.
